About White Project

Travel, at its finest, begins in silence — in the unhurried moment before departure, when the world ahead is still unwritten. That space, undefined and open, is where White Project begins.

Founded in Hong Kong, White Project draws together authorities on the world's most singular destinations — people whose knowledge is hard-won, not borrowed from a brochure: which Antarctic vessel to choose, which camp sits at the heart of the migration, which moment in the Galápagos reveals what few travellers ever witness.

Every destination in our portfolio has earned its place. Every operator, every route, every considered detail — chosen not because it is available, but because it is the finest of its kind. We do the work before the journey begins, so that when you arrive, the world meets you exactly as it should.

“Every journey starts white. The rest is yours.”

Our Story

It began in Antarctica.

When Derek Tang first made the crossing, the hardest part was not the journey itself. It was what came before: the limited information, the conflicting advice, the decisions that proved almost impossible to make well.

Choosing the right vessel is not a small matter. It shapes everything. What you witness. Where the ship ventures. How close you come to the ice. The right choice opens a journey. The wrong one closes it quietly, before it has truly begun.

He arrived at a landscape unlike any other. Vast. White. Elemental. A place so open, so stripped of the familiar, that it held every possibility at once, and none yet taken. It was here he understood what extraordinary destinations ask of those who arrive unprepared: not just presence, but knowledge. The kind earned, not borrowed. The kind that knows the difference between what is available and what is right.

He named the company White, for what he found in that silence. Not just the colour of ice, but what it represented: a journey not yet written. Open. Undefined. Waiting to become whatever it was meant to be.

That same principle holds across every destination that matters. A camp in the Serengeti. A dive route through the Galápagos. A crossing in the high mountains. The finest version of any journey is rarely obvious. It has to be known.

White Project was founded so that others would not have to navigate that alone, and so that no journey would end with the quiet weight of what could have been.

“Every journey starts white. The rest is yours.”
