No explorer’s journey is complete without visiting the world’s largest rainforest. Vast, vibrant, and teeming with life, the Amazon Rainforest is a realm of extraordinary biodiversity where new species are still being discovered. Spanning nine South American countries, this immense wilderness is best explored on a river expedition through Peru, the birthplace of the Amazon River, where the Ucayali and Marañon tributaries meet.

Sailing through these narrow, pristine waterways offers an unmatched opportunity to observe wildlife up close, from playful monkeys in the canopy to colorful birds and hidden creatures along the riverbanks.

Highlights at a Glance

  • Meet the Ribereños, the native people who live along the Amazon River, and learn about their unique way of life on this luxury Amazon river cruise.

  • Guided by our expert naturalists, enjoy close encounters with the extraordinary wildlife that thrives in the rainforest, from vibrant birdlife to elusive jungle creatures.

  • Keep watch for the pink river dolphin, a rare and enchanting species woven into local Amazonian myths and legends, often seen during our cruises through Peru’s tranquil waters.

  • The calmer, shallower channels of the Peruvian Amazon also provide one of the best chances to spot the Amazonian manatee, a gentle and endangered giant with fewer than 10,000 left in the wild.
