• Ngorongoro: Black rhino, big-tusker elephant, lion and hyena in the caldera.

Day 1Arrival - Arusha, Arusha Coffee Lodge

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport an &Beyond team member meets you and transfers you by road to Arusha, an attractive little town beneath the towering peaks of Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro. Visit Shanga, an extraordinary social enterprise that employs people from the community with disabilities to create export-quality recycled glass products. Then take a coffee tour, weaving in and out of the evergreen coffee trees as your guide explains how the bean is nurtured, harvested, dried and roasted.

Days 2 and 3Lake Manyara National Park - &Beyond Lake Manyara Tree Lodge

Transfer to Arusha Airport for the scheduled flight to Lake Manyara Airstrip, where a representative from &Beyond Lake Manyara Tree Lodge meets you and takes you on a game drive to the lodge. Relax at the lodge, enjoy the sparkling swimming pool and guest areas, or treat yourself to a Healing Earth wellness treatment in your room or in the massage sala nestled among the towering shady trees (at additional cost). Head out on game drives in a park famous for its unusual tree-climbing lions and its elephant herds, with sundowners at the lake and the option of a cycle or walk in the local community.

Days 4 and 5Ngorongoro Crater

Enjoy a scenic drive to the Lake Manyara airstrip on the escarpment, where an &Beyond representative meets you and drives you to your lodge of choice in the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area, either Nomad Entamanu Ngorongoro or Lemala Osonjoi Lodge. The conservation area is home to more than 30,000 protected animals, and the Crater itself, once a gigantic volcano, is the largest intact caldera in the world with a 600 m deep focal point. Wake to views over the Crater and, after breakfast, head off for a full-day game drive on the Crater floor to see black rhino, giant-tusked elephant, big-maned lion and flamingos on the soda lakes; guided rim walks and a tasting at the Winestore are available at additional cost.

Days 6 to 8Serengeti National Park

Take a game drive back to the Lake Manyara Airstrip for your scheduled flight to your chosen Serengeti camp: &Beyond Serengeti Under Canvas, &Beyond Klein's Camp or &Beyond Grumeti Serengeti River Lodge. The Serengeti, meaning 'endless plains' in the local Maasai language, is one of the world's most celebrated wilderness areas. Your camp manager and guide help you plan the days: twice-daily game drives with sunrise and sundowner stops, or a full-day game drive with a picnic so you can spend the whole day out. Serengeti Under Canvas adds showers under the stars and campfire evenings, Grumeti the river and its hippos and year-round lion sightings, and Klein's Camp a remote private concession permitting nature walks and night drives.

Day 9Departure - Serengeti National Park

Your Tanzanian safari comes to an end. Enjoy an early morning game drive and breakfast before driving back to the airstrip, where you board a scheduled flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight.
